Sublaines is a town in eastern Touraine. It carried the names Sublena (9th century), Seblena (1060), of Sublenum (12th century), then Sublanis Subleines (13th century). Its inhabitants are called Sublainois and Sublainoises.

The Church of St. Martin, built in the 12th century (nave, five-sided apse vaulted cul-de-four, barrel vaulted chancel and bell tower two floors), was amended in the 15th century. It contains wall paintings of the 15th century.
Farm Course has an old pigeon-square porch of the 16th century, the door is now condemned. It contains 750 holes putlogs (nests of pigeons).
The fortified farm private man has a rectangular tower of the 16th century.
