Vouvray

Vouvray is a town located east of Tours, on the right bank of the Loire. She is known for its white wines AOC (dry, medium dry, sweet and sparkling). Its inhabitants are called Vouvrillons and Vouvrillonnes.

The Frauenkirche was rebuilt in 1861. The original Romanesque church (11th century), it remains only the base of the tower.
The private castle of Moncontour was built in the 15th century, rebuilt in the 19th century and restored after a fire severely damaged him in June 1942.

Near the church, a monument was erected to the memory of the musician Charles Bordes (1863-1909), a native of Vouvray and renovator of Gregorian chant. This monument is the work of sculptor Bruno Médéric.
Another monument, located on rue Victor Hugo, is the bust of the hero of a novel (1833) Honoré de Balzac: The illustrious Gaudissart. The action of this book is going to Vouvray.
There are several boxes of vine in the territory of the municipality, including this one, near the manor of La Gaudrelle.
Bouchet
The mansion was built in the 16th century.
